Best Surf Season (October & March)

October and March serve as the sweet spot at Majestics, balancing solid swell with the highest probability of offshore winds. October sees an average swell height of 1.4m with a period of 9.6s, often from the NE and ENE – perfect for this north-facing beach. The frequency of ideal south to southwest winds jumps to 18% in October, offering more clean windows than the heart of winter. March, at the tail end of the NE monsoon, delivers similar quality with 1.6m average swell and a 4% chance of perfect conditions, but the wind patterns start to become more variable, making it a gamble worth taking.

Fair Surf Season (November – February)

The core winter months from November through February are when the Pacific storm track fires up, generating powerful long-period swell that pounds the coast. January and December average over 2.1m at 9+ seconds – that's firing, heavy, and pumping. However, the prevailing northeast trade winds are strongly onshore at Majestics, corrupting the wave face a majority of the time. The ideal wind percentages plummet to just 2-6%, meaning you have to be patient and pick your windows. But when a cold front pushes through and the wind swings to the south or southwest, you get a combination of size and glass that makes the wait worthwhile. November and February are similar, with slightly less size but still plenty of power – the key is timing the wind.

Low Surf Season (April – September)

From April through September, the southwest monsoon dominates the region, bringing consistent southerly quarter winds that blow directly offshore at Majestics. This is great news for wind quality – ideal conditions occur 36-53% of the time from May to August. The trade-off is a dramatic drop in swell size, with average heights falling to 1.0m or less from May to September. The swell direction also shifts to more easterly and even southerly sources, which are not as optimal for this north-facing exposure. Nonetheless, these months offer fun, clean small waves perfect for longboards and grovelers, especially in the mornings before the seabreeze kicks up.

October is the premier month at Majestics, balancing solid swell with the highest chance of offshore winds during the transition period. Average swell height jumps to 1.4m with a period of 9.6s – solid, powerful, and rippable. Swell direction is heavily from the NE (41.6%) and ENE (31.4%), with a significant NNE component of 13.3%, all within the optimal window. The wind is more variable, with ideal offshore conditions 18% of the time – the best of any month with decent swell. The predominant flow is still from the NE and ENE, but the southwest monsoon's tail end still provides regular southerly shifts. When the wind aligns, you get clean, lined-up waves with good shape that can reach pumping sizes during pulse events. October is the month to plan a trip around – the odds of scoring both size and glass are better than any other time of year.
