Best Surf Season (December - March)

The heart of the dry season brings consistent offshore winds from the north and northeast, creating clean, glassy conditions at Nestles. While swell heights increase to 1.0m on average and periods remain long (12-14s), the constant onshore flow chops up the waves, making conditions largely poor for surfing. The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) sits overhead, bringing unstable air and frequent rain. Surfable moments are rare and typically require a strong high-pressure system to the north to briefly push offshore winds.

October: Onslaught of Onshore and Swell Peak

October is the height of the rainy season with ideal wind at just 9%. The wind registers heavily from the W (37.9%) and WSW (20.6%) with increased speed. Swell average remains 1.0m but period drops slightly to 12.4s. The swell direction splits nearly equally between SSW (49.9%) and SW (48.7%), with the 1-1.5m range comprising 17.7% and 26% respectively.
