The percentage of ideal surfing wind drops to its yearly minimum of 35–38% in September and October, as the intertropical convergence zone meanders north and injects more variable, often westerly winds that put a chop on the face. November sees a slight recovery in wind stats, but the swell period continues to trend downward. These months are for the patient surfer willing to sit through marginal mornings or the occasional clean pulse from a passing cold front.

October: Fading Power, Tricky Winds

October continues the downward trend in wind quality, with ideal conditions only 38% of the time. Swell heights average 1.4m, but the period falls further to 12.7s. The swell is now 78.4% SSW and 20.1% SW, reflecting a broader window. The wind pattern is messy, with increased occurrences of W (7.3%), WNW (8.0%), and NW (7.1%) – all onshore for this west-facing spot.
