June: Consistent Size and Long Offshore Windows

June is peak winter consistency at Werri Beach. The average swell height reaches its highest point of the year at around 6ft (1.8m), and the average period remains strong at 9.4s. The swell rose shifts further south - SSE and S combine for nearly 32% of the energy, with SE adding another 11.6%, and there is a meaningful SSW/SW component too. This means frequent pulses of Southern Ocean groundswell, often produced by powerful lows in the Tasman Sea and roaring forties. That southerly direction might not be perfect for every east-facing bank, but the excellent wind climate compensates. Offshore W flow is the standout at 24.1%, with WSW-WNW-NW adding another 28%, giving a total offshore quadrant share above 52%. Ideal wind days hit 66%. The result is clean, organised waves on most days, often with better shape on the mid-to-high tide. Air temperatures are cold at 10.2°C and water has cooled to 18.5°C, so winter rubber is essential, but June delivers both size and quality in abundance.
