October: The Fall Reset - Clean Winds Return With Solid Groundswell

October brings a major shift back toward the classic Mexican Pacific surf season. SSW swell remains the primary source at 71.5%, with SW at 22.6% and WSW at 3.2%, keeping the swell window excellent. The average height is a solid 1.1m (3.6ft), with 31.2% in the 1-1.5m (3.3-4.9ft) class and 3.4% in the 1.5-2m (4.9-6.6ft) range. The 13.8s average period means long-period, powerful groundswell is the rule rather than the exception, and with the hurricane season still active, October can also deliver sudden, XL-quality swells from tropical cyclones.

The wind, meanwhile, becomes significantly more favorable. Ideal surfing winds rise to 48% as the winter-like pressure pattern begins to establish itself: NW 18.5%, NNW 16.4% and WNW 14.3% combine for a strong groomed presence, while W 7.6% and WSW 4.1% are less dominant. Rainfall drops to 2.11 mm/day, air temperatures cool to a comfortable 25.1°C, and water temperatures are still warm at 29.8°C. October is a true turning point: the summer wet season is backing off, the winter swell train is starting, and surf quality at Playa Bruja takes a major step up.
