When conditions align, this standout peak can feather into a hollow tube, then stretch into a fast, open-faced runner that peels for over 100 meters toward the inside cove. The wave breaks over a mix of reef and sand, but the core setup is a pure reef-bottom left, rewarding confident surfers with a powerful, consistent ride.

Best Surf Season (October - March)

The North Atlantic storm track powers up through autumn and winter, and Playa de Los Caballos sits right in the firing line. From October through March, average swell heights run between 1.6m (5ft) and 2.1m (7ft), with average periods of 11.3 to 12.9 seconds. That is proper groundswell, almost always from the WNW to NW quadrant that this west-facing beach needs. Add ideal wind windows that reach 51% in October, and you have the most consistent period for clean, powerful surf. The downside is weather: strong lows bring rain, cooler air and occasional W/NW winds, but the windows between systems are pure gold.
